Andrea De Haro's highlighter

A question that I had never asked myself before and that now triggers my imagination is that of what is my favorite stationery item? Every day sitting at the same desk and in front of the same things and I never really thought about which of all those articles that share my day-to-day are essential for me, and now I wonder which one is my favorite? I look at all of them now and I feel sad that I never thought about which one is my favorite!! Items so important and at the same time so innovative and to never realize what their real use does to us is disappointing. However, now I realize, and I really value its importance and I start to think about which is my favorite stationery item without disregarding the others because they are also important, but one must always choose a favorite and without a doubt, I choose my yellow highlighter. It is always faithful and always stands out for its bright and light-filled color and it helps me highlight the things that I really want to have more visibility of and importance in my writings and readings. My yellow highlighter is my favorite stationery item on my desk and without it, my study days would be more difficult. Remembering the most important things in my papers would be harder and without my highlighter, it would be useless to try to highlight the important lines of a document.

Now I look back and I remember the times I have used it and I realize that there was not always a highlighter in my life. When I was a child and went to school this item was not for routine use as we did not have easy access to them as young students. I only had a few pencils and some colors to do my work and tasks, but when the highlighter markers began to emerge, they quickly entered my pencil case, and I chose to never abandon them. I began to use them routinely and even essential to my every day. My choice went straight to the yellow color. Yes, my favorite highlighter is the yellow one. It is essential in my pencil case and my desk; now I cannot imagine my workplace without my yellow highlighter. There will never be another marker to replace it and words on my desk will always be highlighted yellow to catch my attention and take me directly to what is most important. I could say that my yellow highlighter is filled with my best moments and thoughts and is recharged with what catches my attention the most and thus highlights my thoughts. It is always there to remind me to shine bright and be the highlight of my day. To stand out within a crowd, as the highlighter does.

My student life could not be the same without my yellow highlighter. It highlights my days and it even helps me with my daily morning routine, yes, believe it or not, my highlighter is also my assistant with my hairdressing. It helps me hold my hair and it is better than any other hair hook and with its yellow highlighting color, it sticks out of my hair and illuminates my head. It gives me that crazy, personal, and informal touch to my student life. My yellow highlighter is my student companion and no matter how many times it dries out, I will always have a new one by my side and in my head, and its presence will always remind me that the day is also yellow and shines every day for me as I should shine for it!!
