Arrtx skin tone markers review

Sometimes, it can be a challenge to represent people on paper and create true-to-life skin tones because most sets of markers come with a limited number of flesh colors. This forces me and other artists to blend the available hues, which is not always successful. In this case, I cannot be accurate in my drawing, and it’s quite frustrating.

The Arrtx skin tone markers from a new Chinese manufacturer can do magic! With so many skin tones in one set, you can render the slightest skin color transitions.

Appearance and Design Features

This Alp set of skin-tone markers features a variety of shades to depict human faces and flesh. It includes 34 colors and arrives with 2 colorless markers for blending. So, the total number of media is 36. Believe me, it is more than enough for beginning artists or hobbyists.

Each tool is triangular in shape, which is slightly rounded. They are easy to control and manipulate and won’t roll away on an inclined working surface. The barrels are white, while the caps are numbered and color-coded. The company’s name and the country of the manufacturing facilities are indicated on the barrel.

The markers are double-tipped – fine bullet and broad chisel. They are easy to identify since the images of both tips are printed on the corresponding ends of the barrel. Bullet nibs are great for detailing and coloring hard-to-reach areas. Chisel nibs are ideal for calligraphy, wide strokes, and covering large areas.

Arrtx skin tone marker tips

The markers are packaged in an awesome square cardboard box with a vinyl strap handle. The case is very sturdy and portable. There are transparent grids inside the box that keep the media organized upright in 36 individual slots. The top box cover is a hinged lid that can be angled. It allows users to store the markers horizontally and to pick the required shade faster. The box is very nice and has summer-inspired details. It can also serve as desk decor.

If you are interested in the best alcohol-based markers available on the modern market, this post will be helpful for you. It reviews various sets of markers in accordance with their drawing quality, appearance, price, and other parameters.

Drawing Quality

The markers are highly pigmented and offer smooth application. Even a single light stroke provides a rich color laydown. The shades are easy to blend, especially with the help of a colorless blender. This tool helps a lot if you need to make a seamless transition of colors.

The media are durable and contain good-quality alcohol-based ink. It is juicy but dries fast and leaves no chemical odor during evaporation. Since the markers are permanent, they leak slightly through the paper. With the fast-drying ink, you don’t need to worry about smudging the drawing with your wrist.

Range of Colors and Creation of a Gradient with Art Markers

There are no duplicates in the offered color selection. Some shades are almost similar, but it won’t be difficult for you to differentiate them with a color swatch. The set arrives with a color chat, so you can fill in the blank boxes with all 34 hues.

The tools are capable of producing both light and intense colors. This is a bonus because some brands don’t allow capturing light pigments. With multiple almost identical shades, you can make smooth tonal gradations, especially when drawing faces.

Color selection of Arrtx skin tone markers

Even if you are a marker connoisseur, read this review about great art markers. Discover interesting and unknown facts related to these media.

Pros and Cons

The media are immensely popular and highly rated by users. Here are some dos and don’ts that I’ve found while drawing with them.

Pros

  • Include double tips
  • Comfortable to hold in the hand
  • Come with a cute carry box suitable for storage and traveling
  • An extensive color palette
  • A perfect gift idea for your artsy friends
  • The color saturation is great
  • Cost-effective
  • The ink is quick-drying

Cons

  • With regular use, the writing on the cap scratches off (for protection, stick clear tapes on the caps)
  • The colors on the cap ends don’t always match the actual pigment tone
  • Some light tones are similar
  • The caps of one end don’t fit on the other end of the marker (that’s not really a drawback)
If the point of coloring faces is not significant to you, jump to the Arrtx markers review. Multiple colors provided by the described collections may have enough skin tones for you to get started.

In Closing

Both beginners and professional artists need to have good skin tone colors in their arsenal. It takes a lot of time and effort to use the available markers at hand to mix them and get the flesh tones you need. This set from Arrtx is an affordable collection of media that helps you cope with this task. Get a dedicated set of coloring tools to tone the faces and bodies you want. This selection is gorgeous and can meet the demands of any picky artist. It will inspire your creative potential and help create magnificent works of art.
