What can be better than having a long-lasting eraser. The only issue the user might face is replacing the eraser bar. Hence, having replacements, nobody will suffer from running out of a beloved tool and continuous searching and waiting for it at online stores, while the retractable tool just needs substitution and it’s ready-to-go. Thus was created the Pentel Clic eraser review.
Design Features
First of all, speaking about Pentel Clic, there might be mentioned 2 versions of this tool: the first one, the ZE-21, and its modern version, the ZE-22, and both of them are pencil-shaped tools.
There are no huge differences between these 2 variants, but still they exist. The predecessor’s body consists of plastic, and it has a ribbed texture (on the grip area), while the restyled version received the pleasant addition of a rubber grip. Both of the grips (plastic and rubber) allow hands to hold these tools comfortably and for a long time.
Both of them have a clip, but on the ZE-21 it is just grey stair-step, while the ZE-22 clip is wavy with glitter inclusions. They work well, and thanks to them, tools can be attached to any flat surface: pocket, folder, book cover, etc.
The opposite part is quite a fascinating thing: the older version has a dimple while the newer one has a bulge. They don’t have any purpose, rather those were just the designer’s thoughts.
The refilling bars come either in an individual pack with guidance inside, or in a wrapped box of 24 pieces.
Quality of Erasing
In fact, judgment of these two samples would be unfair, since their refills are identical. They do their best – erasing devices handle any famous pencil such as Tombow, Mitsubishi, Palomino, etc.
However, it must be admitted that if strokes were done with pressure, most likely, the eraser will miss this part of writing on paper. At best, it can leave just pale signs, which are slightly seen – for sure nobody likes these effects.
The direct purpose of the Pentel Clic is to work on particular areas of drawing or writing, thanks to its narrow point. This feature must be greatly appreciated by artists while working on the picture. Pentel lightens and gets rid of specific areas wonderfully.
Pros & Cons
As it was said earlier, the difference between the ZE-21 and ZE-22 is not big, and probably they should be considered as only one tool: the Pentel Clic. First, it should be mentioned that this tool is retractable which means the eraser is revealed just when it’s needed, and then it can be slid back in to keep it clean.
Well, it needs to be said, this product draws the user’s attention; however, it does have some issues which should be solved by the manufacturer. Still, they perform well and are easy to use, so they are definitely worth the user’s attention!
- They erase nicely without leaving smudges on paper
- They don’t leave leftovers behind and keep the paper safe
- The material for erasing is replaceable and can be hidden by a retractable mechanism
- Contents of eraser have something scratchy which influences its performance on paper, in addition it’s quite thin
- The retractable mechanism doesn’t keep the needed length, it causes accidental closure
Price Range
Both versions are pretty affordable as they are cheaper than their competitors; meanwhile, they do their job very well. A user might also want to buy supplies for these devices, so the price will be slightly higher than a set of instruments. You should take a look at this!
General Impression
So generally, the Pentel Clic is a really wonderful device! Everyone can afford to spend just a few dollars for a thing which will work for a long time. For sure, this deserves to be in your pencil case. And if you want more things, and you still are thinking of them, follow WoWPencils and you will find the best option for you!
