ReviewProduct NameMaterial
Alvin Brass BulletAlvin Brass BulletBrass

Alvin Brass Bullet: Top Metal Sharpener

Alvin Brass Bullet sharpener

Alvin Brass Bullet draws attention through its look and color which is really unusual for stationery. This sharpener is heavy-duty and has a bronze tone, which is probably achieved by the metal properties that the sharpener consists of. The Bullet is easy to hold because of its rough edges – they play the role of a grip, so you can be sure that you won’t lose it while sharpening.

The sharpening process produces wooden shavings, and those are unbroken, which is just ideal – a good sign. Furthermore, the Bullet handles all the shapes of pencils: round, triangular, or hexagonal barrels. Thus, it’s safe to say that the Alvin Brass Bullet can be called the best manual pencil sharpener.

Pros

  • It works very quickly without excess moves
  • It is heavy which is credible
  • It works durably
  • It has replacement blades
  • It produces fewer shavings

Cons

  • Can’t get an acute angle of a tip, it always snaps off
  • Contains lead
  • Doesn’t have a container for shavings

Guide

Surely, everyone wants to get the best tool ever. And when it’s high time, an unprofessional might lose all his courage and forget all the features he wanted in his tool. So there is a list of tips which might save you from unpleasantly wasting money and time.

Buying Manual Pencil Sharpener
Shape. First of all, you should define what shape of pencil you would use the most. It also concerns the sizes of the product. Every sharpener, usually, has one hole and it has standard size. But there are some specially designed sharpeners which can fit a variety of shapes and sizes. So mind it, whether you use just one type of pencil or more.

Blade. There can be graphite, charcoal, wax, and oil leads, and some of them require very gentle and sharp blade, while others will be okay even after using dull blades.

Huge role. The angle of acuteness also plays a huge role. Too acute an angle reveals a longer lead, while a blunt angle makes lead less sharp and saves the lead source for a longer time.

Material. Please, check the materials that the product is made of, in order to avoid allergies and reassure yourself that it is appropriate exactly for your purpose. For example, heavy-duty metal tools perfectly suit offices, classrooms, etc, while plastic ones are a perfect match for individuals.

Container. You might be interested in cheaper versions without a container for shavings. If so, it’s quite tricky to throw away the shavings, e.g. during a test, so you might like options with built-in containers for shavings instead.

Mechanism. There are 2 options of mechanisms to sharpen a pencil properly: hand twisting and hand crank. The first is performed by twisting the pencil by hand, and the second one you use by turning the crank. The second one is easier to use.

Auto-stop mechanism prevents lead from breakage, thus, the wooden tools don’t wear fast.

These tips surely had to help you with searching for the best tool ever according to your requirements. If you still have questions, then go on reading and find answers to your questions.
